Following the announcement of Pulp Fantasy as a new Scanline Media podcast, we’ve gotten some feedback regarding the hosts involved. We don’t want to cause more hurt than already exists, so we don’t intend to get into specifics. What we can say is that we believe the reports that have been given to us, and we have decided that Pulp Fantasy’s presence on Scanline is going to cause pain or discomfort to others in a way that we cannot endorse. As such, it will no longer be a Scanline show, and beyond what has already been recorded, there will be no further guest appearances from Kyrie or me on one episode.
We believe that people are capable of growth and change, however when a pattern of consistent behavior emerges, it is the duty of those with platforms to consciously not allow for possible perpetuation of said behavior. We wish Pulp Fantasy luck in their endeavors, but at this time, we feel that our endorsement is not appropriate at this time.
We are sincerely sorry for any distress this has caused- we really didn’t know, and we are upset by this revelation but are dedicated to doing the right thing for the audience and those who’ve been hurt by folks involved with the show. If you ever have concerns about Scanline, our content, or our creators, we hope you will feel comfortable saying something to us.
