That is the long and short of this announcement, but let’s chat a little about why this came about. For a long time, it was pretty simple to get in touch with us about network feedback. Twitter was a hellish but functional website, and we found ourselves content with the occasional @ and discussion on the Abnormal Mapping server with a dedicated channel. But, some stuff has changed! Twitter has become abandoned, and we have realized that relegating our presence to a single channel on another server means that we don’t give ourselves room to grow. Thus, after some internal discussion, we decided we should get with the times and make a server for us and our work.
We are grateful to the hosts at Abnormal Mapping for hosting a channel for us for so long, and that’s not going anywhere any time soon. But we also realize we need to branch out, and provide room for discussion of all the shows we do. Which is, you know. A lot of programs. So, what can you expect out of joining, besides the usual channels to discuss a broad swath of topics with other Scanline listeners, readers, and viewers? We have channels dedicated to all the shows we put out, where we will announce new episodes and occasionally chime in with behind the scenes looks at our work. Additionally, we will have a dedicated channel for feedback for what we do. While we keep open DMs and our email is another avenue, we wanted to make this channel for people to be able to voice their questions, comments, and concerns and have a direct line to us.
We also won’t be gating access to this server by way of Patreon reward or exclusive membership: it will be free to join, always. We encourage you to join us in this new venture. There will be some bumps along the way, but we hope that you find a warm, inviting space to chat about and support the work we do. We hope to see you there.
