Military leaders like Admiral Duke Brand Tierson of Sulfur and Night Minister Angelica Ainsford brace their various schemes to weather a possible influence of civilian interests, while Mayor Side Dorsum Sardailles coaxes Professor Saya Fryll to step up and push back hawk interests. A chatty robot’s permission slip gets a councilmember’s approval, and alone in a conference room, a Briefcase protests the end.
