The best thing you can have when designing a mecha is an idea. It doesn’t even need to be a good idea! A Gundam with a suit of armor over it that turns it into a Z’Gok? I am going to be blunt. That’s a bad idea! But if they try hard enough, a skilled designer can turn a bad idea into some really dope shit. And somehow, the Aesculapius whips.
