It’s fantasy mecha time, and in what is becoming a trend, that means we’re joined by Grant! The Vision of Escaflowne, or just Escaflowne for short (after its protagonist mecha) was fairly popular at the time of its release, but for whatever reason has faded into the background as the years have passed. That ain’t right! Escaflowne rules! It’s frankly better than 90% of Gundam! Let’s talk about it.
I’ve made a Google Drive folder with images we checked out on this episode, if you’re the sort of person who likes to look at those as you listen! After all, material for Escaflowne is frustratingly hard to find! It’s right here.
If you want to find us on Twitter, Dylan is @lowpolyrobot and Six is @sixdettmar. A big thank you to our two guests for guesting on this episode! First, Grant, aka Ironicus, can be found him on Twitter at @Gen_Ironicus, and on the show Sex Archie as well as others. Our opening theme is the Hangar Theme from Gundam Breaker 3, and our ending theme for this episode is Mystic Eyes by Hiroki Wada from The Vision of Escaflowne. Our podcast art is a fantastic piece of work from Twitter artist @fenfelt. Want to see a list of every unit we’ve covered from every episode, including variants and tangents? It’s right here.
